The old oaks are in full bloom.
But all the newness of Spring isn't confined to Mother Nature. This Mother needs a little Spring treat as well.

My latest treat to me (the person I often overlook) is a bottle of Lolita Lempicka perfume and a big jar of Borghese's Fango mud. I see a root touch-up, a steam and mud facial and hot oil treatment for my hair in my very near future (as in 'tomorrow').

My other treat was a book. The lovely Pattypan at tarragonandthyme.blogspot suggested the tv series but sadly, we didn't get the only channel showing it :( So, I bought the book! Only on page 8 but I love it so far....thanks for the great recommendation, Tricia ;)
Besides the book (from Costco), I completely forgot I had a Barnes & Noble gift card tucked away from last Christmas! Funny, the things a tree on your house will do...so I ordered 'Bridget Jones Diary' (yes, several years later-tired of trying to catch it on tv!), a silver folding, double picture frame and an Al Bowlly CD :)
My final purchase was at another shop entirely...a 'Beginning French' CD and book. Wish me luck...France in 2013!

Then, by surprise, another great gift...not from me, but for me! This is the second goodie-scrapbooking-craft box my wonderful sister has sent me through the mail. She is a crafting-scrapbooking queen and regularly has a clear out and bless her, she thinks of me :) It boggles the mind how to organize all of this and then, how to use it! I'm sure I'll have fun trying :)

Lastly, of all things new for Spring, our house is nearly done! In the past week or so, we've had upper wall trim, baseboards, window mouldings, custom windowsills and aprons installed and the entire inside painted (minus the little kitchen and 2 bathrooms). We were supposed to have the carpet installed but wouldn't you know it, we're forecasted for snow! In May! Ah well...much to look forward to.
Have a wonderful weekend, friends and hope you're enjoying your Spring ;)

P.S. Update! Update! This post was written a couple days ago. Last night, we dropped by the house and lo and behold, there was carpet! It's nearly complete, may be moving in next week. Ahhh, lovely Spring~
