Weekend Mish-Mash

I won't even attempt to put my weekend into any sort of order. It was just a wonderful mish-mash of things, some of which I didn't capture on camera...like the delicious breakfast I had at a favorite 'greasy spoon' in the small Lake Arrowhead community of Cedar Glen, aptly named, 'The Cedar Glen Inn'; an egg-substitute omelette (eating healthy!) with onions, spinach, avocado, tomatoes, bell peppers and Swiss cheese, a few stolen bites of country potatoes and sourdough toast from Mr. B. Heaven! Not to mention the not-so-healthy lunch Mr. B treated me to at our other favorite (and highly recommended) local sandwich shop, 'Rocky's' in Skyforest-another small Arrowhead community.
Another highlight was a geneology find that I've had difficulty with in the last year or so. Pinpointing where in Basque Spain my family is from. That was the most exciting news of my weekend :) Plans for a trip in the future...Or the simple pleasure of eating lunch on the Springtime-sunny patio, music of my choice in the background. Cats chasing lizards. Cheerful neighbors walking dogs. My friends al fresco Greek lunch. Aaahhhh, the Spring weekend...

A couple of trips to the nearly done house...

After breakfast, a gander through a favorite shop, 'Timberline in the Glen', in Cedar Glen...

Springtime abounds at Timberline...

'Gilded Cages'

Whimsical light....

A favorite, blue and yellow in a French country style

The yellow dinnerware...

Unfortunately, one of my favorites didn't show up so crisp; sage green plaid and mocha colored dinnerware...

Indoor beauty was balanced with outdoor beauty; my son and I hike the trail around Lake Gregory, the next lake closest to us besides our Lake Arrowhead...

Bear-proof trash cans :)

Little D, burning off all his youthful energy, starts a good gallop ahead of me and back again, bouncing and jumping off things...a couple times :)

Approaching the other end of the lake with the baseball field and historic hall...

One of the streams that feed the lake...

Historic hall in the background...

with it's fountain, topped with a bear, holding a trout in his mouth.

Later, Little D and I visit a favorite old spot where we knew the hang-gliders and para-gliders would be preparing for take-off...and they were, in droves.

Once they saw us with camera, they made a point to hover and swoop :) On my 'lifes-to-do' list...para-gliding (this pic is hang-gliding)

The weekend was full of things to do, although some chose to tuck themselves in for a catnap...

The end of a beautiful, sunny day and the breeze was blowing, the birds chirping and the first boats of the season whizzed around the lake while I enjoyed a Newkie Brown, a Veranda magazine and the Gipsy Kings on my iPod.

The perfect ending to a lovely Spring weekend, my Luna. Rising full through a wisp of clouds blown in on a breeze. As Mr. B slept, I opened all the blinds and took several pictures as she rose above the old oak...and I listened to Al Bowlly on my headphones, singing 'If I Had You'.

Al Bowlly and moonlight. Classic.

Happy Spring...
